In my studies of architectur...Great article Nigel.<br /><br />In my studies of architecture I grew to love the brick, because it was a physical manifestation of the process of creating the building. Modern methods of construction that use larger units and don't take into account the needs of the human workforce can end up costing a great deal more than they save, in time, money and physical damage to workers.<br /><br />I think scrapping the suit is a great idea if it were done well. I have a similar opinion about women's fashions. In essence wearing high heeled shoes and tight skirts is a statement about one's affluence. I'm so rich I don't have to run for the bus! Not being a kept woman, I don't wear either. However I'm guessing some of my female colleagues would balk at that accusation... that's ok.
